As a service to our customers, dealers and friends, Bell Performance hosts quarterly webinars on fuel topics of interest to their friends and their customers. This is a transcript of one of these recent webinars held on The Fuel Tests You Need to Know About. We will be publishing it as a three-part series. If you would like to watch the archived presentation, please click here.
Remember, government entities. Government entities serve constituents that rely on them for services so they pay attention to fuel test that increase their ability to do this.
Generator dealers and generator service companies, especially the service companies, their business is to get their customer exactly what they need, which is peace of mind that the generator they bought will meet their expectations by operating as needed when needed so a service company is going to want to do test that give them an accurate picture of the generator fuel's ability to do that.
Hospitals and healthcare facilities. One of the big things that they want to do is they want to stay on the right side of the regulations that they're required to fall under. The regulations that ultimately aim to make sure they can provide critical services to their constituents so to speak, their patients at all times. They're going to want to pay attention to these tests that enable them to do that.
Last one, fuel servicing companies.
Since they essentially service other people's stored fuel, they don't have their own, the test that they're going to get the most value from are the ones that enable them to show their customers that their services were changed the fuel for the better.
Hopefully, after our time here together today, you have a clearer picture of how these six recommended test really bring a high value and enabling all these people and more to do what they most need to do.
Last thing before we get to questions, the Bell Fuel and Tank Services.
This is something, as I said, when I first started off, I talked about the fact we've been doing business for a long time. We have a lot of customers in all of those areas that we discussed, government entities, generator dealers, hospitals and healthcare, and we do a lot of service work with them, helping them to try and keep their stored fuel in problem free a state as possible. A lot of these elements that we've covered are elements that we really emphasize as part of how we operate the Bell Fuel and Tank Services or what we may call Bell FTS.
Bell Fuel and Tank Services really has a, what we call a hybrid complete approach to fuel management is what we stress so we utilize high quality mechanical fuel and tank cleaning. Of course, we combine them with the best quality chemical treatments so again, remember the biocides, really important to have a good quality biocide, we have that. Fuel stability treatments, anti-corrosion treatments, sludge dispersants, biomass dispersants, so high quality treatments paired with mechanical fuel cleaning to really target all of the important areas that stored fuel customers need.
Then the last part, the whole overriding topic of this webinar, fuel testing. The best or most complete service you need is to have all three of these arms, that's what Bell Fuel and Tank Services does. In the end, our aim with that is to give our stored fuel customers exactly what they need while avoiding them having to pay for things they don't because Lord knows if it's ever happened to you, that's just as bad, is feeling like you paid for something that you really didn't need. If this is something that resonates with you in your sphere of influence, in the area that you're doing business with, we definitely be interested in talking with you more about what you need and if and how we can help you solve your problems with the Bell Fuel and Tank Services program.
One final thing to note, if you recall our discussion on the Cetane Index test. We said one of its limitations was that you can't use it to document how much fuel cetane number has improved if you add cetane improver to it. So how do you know if cetane improver treatment has solved your problem?
Unless you want to spend $1,000 or so to run a cetane number test, the D617, then really you're going to have rely on the partner, the company that you're working with that's servicing the fuel. You need to have confidence that they are a good partner. That they have your best interest in mind. Well, everybody says, you ask everybody, "Are you any good?", "Well, of course, I'm good.", so how do you know if a, how can you tell a good fuel service partner from a not so good one besides just asking them and telling, letting them tell you. Well, there are a few certain things that you can look for. I mean do they have a good reputation, long standing reputation in the industry? That doesn't tell you everything, but it does tell you something.
This one's very important, do they give honest answers? If you ask them a question, do you get the sense that they're trying to BS you so to speak, or do they, will they tell you something that is not going to get them business? I mean that's a big one. If they're willing to tell you, hey, you really don't need to do this even if that, you know that this, that they're talking about is going to mean they can do a $5,000 fuel polishing job on you, if they are committed to giving you honest answers and accurate answers, and if they're willing to show you that they will put your best interest over theirs, those are some big ones respect to whether you can tell or whether you can predict if somebody that wants to do business with you is a good one or not. Look for signs that they're willing to put your interest ahead of their own. That's a couple of things that you can look out for.
